C'MON SON...AT THE END OF THE DAY

THIS TOPIC WAS VERY INTERESTING TO DO RESEARCH ON BECAUSE I AM A MINORITY AND AT TIMES I DO FEEL AS IF I AM RACIALLY PROFILED. BEING A COLLEGE STUDENT IS HARD ENOUGH IN A COLLEGE TOWN THAT IS PREDOMINANTLY WHITE. THEN HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT LAW ENFORCEMENT TREATING MINORITIES UNJUST OR JUST 'PROFILING' US IS VERY SCARY AND DISHEARTENING. C'MON SON. I UNCOVERED A LOT OF SURPRISING STATISTICS THAT REVEAL THAT SOCIETY IS STILL NOT READY TO TRULY ADDRESS RACIAL PROFILING. WE CAN PASS LAWS AND MASK THE WOUND, BUT UNTIL SOCIETY AS A WHOLE BEGINS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY. ONE THING THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THIS BLOG MORE INTERESTING WOULD BE FOR MORE PARTICIPATION FROM OUTSIDE PARTIES. AT THE END OF THE DAY I AM GLAD I GOT A CHANCE TO VOICE MY CONCERNS AND DIG DEEPER IN A TOPIC THAT IMPACTS MY EVERY DAY LIFE.

Looking Ahead

Racial Profiling in the Future

Future of Racial Profiling

The survey results show that black Americans have a far more negative outlook on the future of black-white relations in comparison to whites.

Racial Profiling----> Widespread???

Gallup....CLICK ME

Nearly 7 in 10 blacks (69%) feel that blacks are treated less fairly than whites in their own communities. In sharp contrast, only about one in three whites (35%) believe that the police in their communities treat blacks less fairly than whites. -----> WHY IS THIS??

THE ANSWER IS QUITE SIMPLE. SINCE BLACKS ARE MORE FREQUENTLY TARGETED, THEY RESPOND AT A HIGHER RATE THAN WHITES. THATS MY OPINION!!

Racial Profiling----> Widespread???

Gallup...CLICK ME

One in five blacks (22%) say that they have been unfairly treated "in dealings with police, such as traffic incidents" within the last 30 days because they are black.

IS IT OK FOR OFFICERS TO 'PROFILE' CERTAIN RACES IN ORDER TO BRING JUSTICE???

Racial Profiling-----> Widespread???

Gallup.com...CLICK ME

Black Americans are more likely than whites to perceive racial profiling as widespread in this country (85% vs. 54%)

ONCE AGAIN..BLACKS EXPERIENCE RACIAL PROFILING MORE THAN WHITES DO, SO IT IS NOT SURPRISING TO SEE THAT BLACKS VIEW RACIAL PROFILING MORE WIDESPREAD THAN WHITES.
